Hydrant Flushing Beginning April 6, 2026
The Village of Endicott Water Department will begin its annual hydrant flushing on Monday, April 6, as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain the reliability and quality of the community’s water system.
Hydrant flushing is an important routine maintenance activity that helps ensure proper water flow throughout the system and allows crews to identify potential issues within the water distribution network. This process also helps remove mineral deposits and sediment that may accumulate in water lines over time.
Residents may notice water department crews working throughout various neighborhoods during this period. While flushing is underway, some residents may temporarily experience low water pressure or slight discoloration in their water. This is normal and typically clears quickly by allowing the cold water to run for a few minutes.
To help prevent potential staining, residents are encouraged to check their water before doing laundry during flushing periods.
The Village appreciates the community’s patience as crews complete this important maintenance work to ensure safe and reliable water service for residents and businesses.
Updates on the hydrant flushing schedule will be shared on the Village of Endicott website and social media pages.
For questions or additional information, residents may contact the Village of Endicott Water Department.
